A Christmas Meditation

May we remember that the King has come, and that He will gloriously remake as surely as He as graciously redeemed. Our race’s lies and hatreds and rapes and lusts will be vanquished forever when He returns. The world’s cancers and wildfires will be snuffed out, and the swords and the guns will be turned into gardening tools. If there are any wheelchairs left, they’ll be decorative.

Jesus has been born to save us from our sins. The effects of those sins, and the judgment we’re due for them, have always been great. But His plan, His work, and His Gospel are unbreakable. His goodness is insurmountable and His Kingship is eternal.

We have been given much to be joyful about. If we are adopted children of the Most High God, if we are ransomed followers of the Lord Jesus Christ, then we have much to sing of and smile for. There is a great comfort we have, strong and true enough to still our souls and soften our tears.

Let us celebrate this Christmas with glad spirits and expectant hearts. We have a very real Savior, the God and man Christ Jesus.

“She will bear a son, and you shall call his name Jesus, for he will save his people from their sins.”

Matthew 1:21

A very merry Christmas to you all.
