For by Him all things were created, in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities—all things were created through him and for him. And he is before all things, and in him all things hold together.
One of the most encouraging things we who are Christian have at our disposal is this: We know why the universe, and everything in it, exists.
We know creation’s purpose.
The universe, this place of lights and sounds and loves and sadnesses is all a stage for the sinner-forgiving, death-defeating, truth-bearing Jesus to be magnified on.
People want to know why. Humans want to have an answer to the questions about why they exist and why things happen.
A real Christian can give the answer. And if he can do it with the boldness and the mercy and the prayerfulness of the Paul who wrote Colossians, I think he can do it to great good.
We have Good News to share. And we have an answer to give.
